Online Quran Classes for Sisters: Learning with a Female Teacher

By Quran Home Online teachers · · 6 min read

Quick answer

Sisters can learn every course online with a female teacher: Noorani Qaida, Nazra, Tajweed, Hifz, Tarjuma and Tafseer, Namaz, Duas and Hadith. Classes are private and one-to-one, the camera can stay off, and times can be arranged around school, work or young children. A free trial class is the easiest way to start.

Why many sisters prefer a female teacher

  • Comfort and privacy. Women can learn at home, dressed as they are, with no need to travel.
  • Freedom to ask. Questions about purity, prayer during menstruation, and verses addressed to women are easier to ask a woman.
  • Role models. Girls see a woman who has memorized or studied the Quran, and believe they can too.
  • Family preference. Many families simply prefer women to be taught by women, and that choice is always respected here.

Privacy and the camera

Classes are one-to-one between the student and her teacher. For recitation and Tafseer the camera can stay off; only audio and the shared screen are needed. For Namaz lessons a teacher may ask to see the positions, which is always with a female teacher and only if the student agrees. Classes are not recorded unless the student or her parent asks.

Timetables for busy mothers

  • Choose 30-minute classes, three days a week, during your child's nap or school hours.
  • Pick a late-evening slot after the children sleep; our shifts run around the clock.
  • Learn together: many mothers take the class right after their daughter's class with the same teacher.

How to start

Not sure what to study first? Many sisters begin by learning the meaning of the surahs recited in daily prayer.

خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

“The best of you are those who learn the Quran and teach it.”
